Job Summary
Monitor daily school bus activities to ensure safe boarding, departure, and drop-off of students while enforcing the bus code of conduct and assigned seating arrangements. Maintain accurate route and stop assignments, record parent contact information, and answer calls from administrators, the METCO Director, and parents. Chaperone field trips and consult with the METCO Director regarding bus concerns or disciplinary issues. Ride the bus for extended periods Monday through Friday, morning and afternoon shifts, adhering to district disciplinary policies and developing positive relationships with students and parents.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess the ability to appropriately enforce discipline
- Must possess ability to develop positive relationships with students and parents
- Successful completion of a criminal background check including C.O.R.I. and fingerprinting
- Morning 6:00 - 8:00am
- Afternoon 2:00 - 4:00pm
Desired Qualifications
- Some college preferred
- Experience working with children in an educational or transportation environment preferred
