Job Summary
Assist school bus drivers in maintaining discipline, monitoring students during operation, and ensuring safe loading, unloading, and seating arrangements. Implement Board of Education rules and regulations while consulting with teachers, principals, and parents regarding student backgrounds and medical needs. Maintain proper records, documentation, and route surveys; secure seat belts, harnesses, and wheelchair clamps as required. Help assist handicapped children on and off the bus, escort them across streets, and ensure responsible adults meet students leaving. Attend in-service meetings and training courses to maintain current knowledge of emergency evacuation procedures and health and safety regulations. Incorporate technology into daily tasks and remain at work for the entire day unless excused.
Required Qualifications
- Any combination equivalent to: high school diploma, G.E.D. Certificate or demonstrated progress toward obtaining a G.E.D. as required by Kentucky law.
