Job Summary
Role: Bus Monitor for IDEA Public Schools in Edinburg. Responsibilities include lifting and assisting students with disabilities on and off the bus, supervising boarding and alighting, helping students find their way, adapting to each student’s needs, managing behavior, and communicating with teachers and parents about student behavior on the bus. As part of operations, you will become familiar with routes, maintain route schedules, supervise use of seat belts and car seats, follow emergency procedures, assist the driver with safety and cleanliness, and work irregular hours. Qualifications emphasize the ability to follow verbal instructions, operate safety/adaptive equipment, and work well with children with disabilities. A High School Diploma or GED is required.
