Job Summary
Bus Monitor role providing part-time, school-day transportation support. Safely assist students as needed, help them enter/exit the vehicle, ensure lap/shoulder belts are used, and securely fasten them in car seats or booster seats. Monitor student behavior and provide guidance, report unsafe or inappropriate behavior, and follow management directions. Communicate effectively in English with students, parents, teachers, and NRT Bus staff; use the van pool two-way radio system. Lifting may be required and training is provided.
Required Qualifications
- At least 18 years or older
- Ability to pass a background check, CORI/SORI, drug screen
- Effectively communicate in English (spoken and written)
- Must be able to safely assist students entering/exiting vehicle and securing them in car seats/booster seats
- Must have physical capability to lift
- Must be able to follow directions from supervisors
- Must demonstrate ability to work with school-age children with special needs
