Job Summary
Operate a bus along designated routes, adhering to schedules and traffic regulations while conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety. Provide safe transportation for passengers, assisting with boarding and deboarding, particularly for individuals with disabilities or special needs. Manage fare collection, maintain cleanliness of the bus interior, and communicate clearly with dispatch regarding delays or emergencies. Report any incidents, accidents, or breakdowns promptly and address passenger inquiries with patience. Requires a valid CDL with passenger endorsement, clean driving record, and ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays. Required Qualifications
- A valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a passenger endorsement
- Proven experience as a bus driver or in a similar role
- Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or violations
- Strong knowledge of local and regional roadways and traffic laws
- Ability to remain calm and handle stressful situations with professionalism
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if necessary
- Ability to sit for extended periods and operate a vehicle safely
- Capable of occasionally lifting weights up to 20 pounds
