Job Summary
Bus Driver part-time role under the supervision of YMCA leadership, responsible for safe operation of the school/branch bus in compliance with YMCA transportation guidelines and applicable vehicle laws. Duties include performing pre-trip inspections, ensuring passengers do not exceed vehicle capacity, maintaining safe driving practices, avoiding distractions (no cell phone use while driving), reporting accidents and breakdowns promptly, and assisting with occasional events. Requires valid SC driver’s license or CDL, impeccable driving record, ability to communicate with people at all levels, and a positive, mission-oriented attitude. Tasks emphasize safety, adherence to guidelines, and punctual, courteous transportation for riders.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age to drive Mini bus or 21 years or older to drive a bus.
- Must hold a valid South Carolina issued License or CDL license.
- Compatible with the vehicle they will be operating.
- Must Submit Copy of South Carolina Driver’s license; DMV Medical Certificate (bus driver).
- Impeccable driving record.
- Ability to communicate with people of all levels.
- Have a positive attitude and desire to achieve the mission of the Upper Palmetto YMCA.
- Carrying, sitting, seeing, hearing, speaking, running, crouching, lifting (25 Lbs.), and walking.
