Job Summary
Transport students to and from athletics events, school trips, and regular routes, ensuring prompt pick-up and delivery. Assist passengers with safe loading and unloading, stow luggage and equipment, and maintain vehicle cleanliness and adequate fuel levels. Monitor students during transit to ensure order and discipline, while communicating effectively with parents and staff. Perform first aid as necessary if certified, and maintain mileage logs and required documentation. Comply with all safety regulations, report accidents and violations, and participate in periodic screenings and department meetings. Available for flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and potential overnight trips to New York City or Washington, DC.
Required Qualifications
- current, valid PA commercial driver's license with the air brake restriction removed
- current Passenger and School Bus endorsements
- acceptable safe driving record
- current school bus medical certificate
- DOT certification
- Available to work flexible hours in the early morning, afternoon, and on weekends
- Some late-night and longer trips (to New York City, Washington, DC), including overnight trips are possible
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move up to 40 lbs. regularly
- Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move up to 50 lbs occasionally with assistance
- Able to read and interpret maps and utilize navigation systems
Desired Qualifications
- Current CPR certification
