Job Summary
Operate a school bus on designated routes to transport pupils and staff, conduct pre- and post-trip safety inspections, perform child checks, maintain order and discipline, and assist with route coordination, timing, and record-keeping. Ensure compliance with company policies, state/federal requirements, and safety standards; provide safety instruction and evacuation drills as directed; and respond to dispatcher and operations requests for route changes and additional notations on route sheets.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving history
- CDL preferred but not required
- Certificate of training in first aid and CPR, if required by local contract
- First aid endorsement on the special driver’s certificate or training in first aid and CPR
