Job Summary
Bus Driver responsible for safe, reliable student transportation to/from school, field trips, and extracurricular activities. Maintain a safe, respectful environment while complying with district, state, and federal transportation regulations. Requires Texas CDL with P and S endorsements, 18+ years old, ability to pass DOT screenings and ongoing safety training, and strong communication and student-management skills. Operates school bus, uses GPS/routing systems, and adheres to safety protocols during prolonged driving, varying weather, and irregular hours. Salary ranges from $17.17 to $24.00 per hour (annualized to $35,714–$49,920) with full-time status; 10-month calendar (195 days).
Required Qualifications
- Clear and valid Texas Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to pass U.S. Department of Transportation drug/alcohol screenings and annual physical examinations
- Ability to complete and maintain required bus driver safety training and certifications
- Strong communication, organizational, and student management skills
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to safely operate a school bus and use GPS and routing systems
