Job Summary
Bus Driver Position for the 2026-2027 school year. 180 days with AM & PM runs and as-needed athletic and special event runs. CDL required (training available) and a High School diploma or equivalent. Reports to the Facilities and Operations Director. Responsible for operating a school bus on established routes, transporting students, and supporting athletic events and field trips while maintaining student safety and compliance with district policies. Requires background check and drug screening, valid driver’s license, and ability to communicate clearly with students, staff, and parents. Demonstrates reading/writing skills, math skills for rate/ratio/percent, and ability to work with diverse school communities in varying weather and traffic conditions. Equal Opportunity Employer. Required Qualifications
- CDL required but willing to train
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to staff, parents, students and administrators
- Mathematical skills including ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Reasoning ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions; ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community; ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies
- Physical abilities including standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, lifting, and ability to operate a school bus safely
- Environment awareness including ability to work in varying weather conditions and traffic environments
- Commitment to student safety and adherence to traffic laws
