Job Summary
Drive a school bus or assigned vehicle maintaining a schedule safely while keeping the route clean, fueled, and ready for riders. Interact with children, parents, and staff in a helpful manner and maintain student discipline per District policies. Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, document accidents and safety issues, and clean up spills. Assist special needs monitors with securing wheelchairs and equipment. Complete required data recording, annual physicals, drug screenings, and state certification classes. Conduct emergency evacuations and assist with office cleaning duties as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with Passenger and School Bus endorsements
- Credentials as required by the State of Oklahoma for school bus driving
- Ability to stand, walk, and squat frequently
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Ability to do outside duties in inclement weather
- Ability to walk or move long distances from location to location around the building multiple times each day
- Obtain an annual State physical
- Obtain pre-employment drug screening
- Be involved in random drug screening in accordance with Federal/District standards
- Maintain a current physical test in accordance with all Federal/state rules
- Maintain a current SDE certification in accordance with all state/Transportation rules
- Maintain a current Class 'A' or 'B' CDL with Passenger and School bus endorsements
- Maintain a current Motor Vehicle Report with minimal reported incidents in accordance with all state/District rules
