Job Summary
Transport and assist customers, manage fare transactions, and ensure all transit regulations are observed while providing announcements and customer service. Perform pre- and post-trip bus inspections, maintain vehicle cleanliness, and adjust seating for special needs. Follow safety protocols for alerts and represent the Metrolinx brand in accordance with customer and safety charters. Work rotating shifts including days, evenings, weekends, split shifts, and holidays up to 33 hours per week. Support a 24/7 operation across various garages within the Greater Golden Horseshoe.
Required Qualifications
- current and valid Ontario Class "G" driver's licence or higher
- minimum of two (2) years" with the licence, "no more than two (2) demerit points
- no pending charges under the Highway Traffic Act that may result in two (2) or more demerit points
- Level of reading, writing, and learning skills normally attained through the completion of a high school education
- Minimum of six (6) months public facing customer service experience
- Ability to assist customers and emergency services (under the direction from Network Operations Control)
- Interpersonal skills to maintain customer relations
- Good verbal communication skills to communicate with customers in different situations (detours, emergency info, etc.)
- Require the ability to receive, understand and follow instructions audibly in the field on a regular basis
- Able to work independently within varying shifts/schedules
- exercise a high degree of visual concentration
- drive large vehicles safely in variable weather and traffic conditions
- Capable of dealing with tickets, and tariffs
- Obtain and maintain a Class "C" driver's licence and a "Z" endorsement
- Must successfully complete the New Driver Training program and all other training required by corporate policy

Desired Qualifications
- Experience driving a commercial vehicle or other large vehicle is an asset
- Bilingualism is an asset
