Bus Driver - North Stanly Middle (Part Time)

Job Summary
Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of the school bus, reporting any equipment deficiencies immediately. Transport students to and from school, activities, and events while ensuring passenger safety and maintaining discipline. Clean the bus inside and out, including washing and trash removal, and fuel the vehicle as needed. Obey traffic laws, observe safety regulations, and lead periodic emergency evacuation drills. Record mileage and maintain all operational records. Operate the bus with a valid commercial driver's license and passenger and bus endorsement, adhering to the district's moderate supervision structure.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 6 months of driving experience as a licensed operator of a motor vehicle
- Must be 18 years of age
- Valid commercial driver's license with passenger and bus endorsement in the State of North Carolina
- Commercial Driver's License with P and S Endorsement
- Ability to read and write
- Ability to detect malfunctioning equipment
- Ability to assist children using patience and understanding
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school officials, associates, students, parents and the general public
- General knowledge of operating a school bus
- General knowledge of the geography of the District and the location of streets
- Skill in the safe operation of a school bus
