Bus Driver - North Stanly Middle (Part Time)

Job Summary
Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of the school bus, reporting any equipment deficiencies immediately. Transport students to and from school, activities, and events while maintaining discipline and ensuring passenger safety. Perform cleaning duties inside and out, including washing, sweeping, and trash removal, and fuel the bus as needed. Obey traffic laws, conduct emergency evacuation drills, and record mileage. Requires a valid North Carolina Commercial Driver's License with P and S endorsements, 6 months of driving experience, and a high school diploma. Part-time schedule of 3.4 hours daily from 7am to 7:45am and 3:14pm to 4:20pm for a 10-month term.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 6 months of driving experience as a licensed operator of a motor vehicle
- Must be 18 years of age
- Valid commercial driver's license with passenger and bus endorsement in the State of North Carolina
- Commercial Driver's License with P and S Endorsement
- Ability to read and write
- Ability to detect malfunctioning equipment
- Ability to assist children using patience and understanding
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school officials, associates, students, parents and the general public
- General knowledge of operating a school bus
- General knowledge of the geography of the District and the location of streets
- Skill in the safe operation of a school bus
