Job Summary
Operate a school bus to transport students and authorized personnel safely on assigned routes. Responsibilities include adhering to established schedules, conducting pre-trip inspections of the bus, maintaining records on mileage and fuel consumption, supervising students during boarding and crossing, and reporting incidents to supervisors. Candidates must have a valid Texas commercial driver’s license with the necessary endorsements, complete safety training, and demonstrate communication skills and the ability to manage student behavior. The position requires lifting, carrying, and the ability to work irregular hours.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Texas commercial driver’s license with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
- Must be 18 years of age
- Ability to complete required bus driver safety training
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to manage student behavior
- Ability to pass alcohol and drug test
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Knowledge of student discipline procedure
- Ability to operate bus
