Job Summary
The Bus Driver & Janitor position involves coordinating and conducting vehicle maintenance, daily vehicle inspections, and maintaining janitorial supplies. Responsibilities include ensuring child safety during transport, maintaining cleanliness of the center, assisting families, conducting training for serving children with disabilities, and completing paperwork for vehicle operations. Applicants must have a valid CDL with endorsements, be at least 21 years old, and possess necessary driving and safety certifications.
Required Qualifications
- Be at least 21 years of age
- Possess a valid CDL Certification with passenger and school bus endorsements
- Ability to work irregular and/or flexible hours
- Be insurable in accordance with Department of Transportation regulations
- Must have a reliable car, valid driver’s license, and adequate insurance
Desired Qualifications
- Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred
- Experience in transporting young children preferred
Additional Requirements
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check
- Must have a current DOT physical and possess a current DOT medical card or complete a DOT physical exam prior to transporting children
- Must submit to a pre-employment drug/alcohol test
- Must complete a TB test screening showing absence of Tuberculosis within 30 days of employment or sooner as required by local/state regulation
- Must complete approved SIDS & Shaken Baby Training prior to working with children
- Fire Extinguisher Training, Infant/Child CPR and First Aid upon hire or prior to transporting children
- Position is subject to random drug and alcohol testing
