Job Summary
Conduct safe, reliable bus operations for the Mobile Breast Screening Clinic, adhering to Standard Operational Procedures and established routes while ensuring customer safety remains paramount. Perform pre-shift circle checks, complete daily paperwork including ridership logs, and report mechanical defects or incidents to dispatch immediately. Maintain a clean driving record, carry out risk assessments, and render first aid during emergencies on board. Work Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, with some schedule flexibility as determined by Hamilton Health Sciences. The role requires a valid BZ or CZ license, three years of driving experience, and First Responder certification. Based at the Stoney Creek NEMT location, this position supports sustainable mobility solutions within the Niagara-Hamilton region.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years of driving experience
- Valid BZ or CZ driver's license
- Ability to lift 250+ lbs. using a stretcher or stair chair with partner
- Ability to effectively communicate in both verbal and written English
- Valid First Responder Certification OR AEMCA, OR are working towards a Paramedic Diploma (must be finished year 1) OR are a Firefighter with Emergency Medical Responder Certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent
- Clean driving record
- Ability to obtain a clean criminal record search and/or vulnerable sector screening
- Up to date immunization records and ability to provide records of: MMR, DPT, Polio, Varicella, Hepatitis B, COVID-19 (2 doses), *TB Skin Test (Step 1) *must be valid within last 12 months
- Knowledge of traffic laws, safety procedures, and transit regulations
- Availability for regular schedule Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
- Ability to work with some flexibility in working hours
Desired Qualifications
- Paramedic Diploma (if not yet finished year 1)
- Firefighter with Emergency Medical Responder Certification (if not yet finished year 1)
