Job Summary
Transport children to and from school in the mornings and afternoons while verifying permissions for those riding home with friends. Maintain a clean and mechanically sound bus at all times by performing pre- and post-route inspections and obeying all traffic laws. Ensure the safety of all students, enforce mask requirements, and discipline children when necessary to maintain a safe and healthy environment. Assist students with boarding and alighting as required. Complete all required forms, including trip sheets and vehicle inspection reports, and attend monthly safety meetings. Must hold a valid Michigan CDL with passenger and school bus endorsements, possess a high school diploma or GED, and pass a background check.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED
- Valid Michigan CDL Driver's License with a passenger (P) and a school bus (S) endorsements
- Ability to complete all required forms, including trip sheets, pre/post bus inspection sheets, and vehicle inspection reports clearly and in a legible manner
- Pass background check
- Strong communication skills
- Valid CDL
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience with children
- Mechanical knowledge
- Customer service skills
- Ability to provide a safe and comfortable environment for students
- Proficiency in English
- Proficiency in driving
