Job Summary
Drive the Multi-Function Activity bus to pick up children from local public-school systems and deliver them to the Child Development Center for after-school programs and field trips. Perform daily Pre-Trip and Post-Trip inspections, alerting management to any needed vehicle maintenance or repair. Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle and adhere to a schedule determined by public school hours of operation. Complete annual bus evacuation drills and maintain a calm, positive demeanor in emergency situations. Ensure all children are safely transported while projecting a role model image in the child care environment.
Required Qualifications
- CDL with passenger endorsement
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Ability to pass background check
- Up to date DOT Exam
- Genuine love and concern for children
- Creative aptitude for teaching and promoting child development
- Ability to stay calm and even temperament in emergency situations
- Positive role model
- Sitting and standing for long periods of time
- Occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping
- Good finger dexterity and feeling
- Frequent repetitive motions
- Visual acuity
- Occasional lifting up to 100 lbs
- Knowledge of Bus Evacuation
- Ability to perform evacuation drill twice annually
- Ability to check all buses before leaving Child Development Center
