Job Summary
Provide safe and efficient transportation for students to and from school, maintaining a safe environment on the bus, enforcing rules of conduct, performing routine inspection and maintenance activities, and responding to emergencies. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, ability to pass DOT physical and drug test, obtain a Class B CDL with passenger endorsement (paid training available), and a clean driving record. Prior bus driver experience is preferred but not required. Strong knowledge of traffic regulations and safety procedures is expected, with focus on passenger safety and reliable attendance in a Bettendorf Community School District transportation role.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to pass pre-employment DOT Physical and Drug Test
- Must be able to obtain a Class B CDL with passenger endorsement (Paid training available to qualified candidates)
- Must possess an excellent driving record
- Must be able to provide required I-9 documentation to verify eligibility to work in the United States
- Previous experience driving a bus preferred, but not required
- Knowledge of traffic regulations in order to operate vehicles in a safe and courteous manner
