Job Summary
Operates a school bus on assigned route(s) following schedule to transport students, performs pre- and post-trip inspections, obeys traffic laws and school bus regulations, maintains discipline of students, completes required reports, secures the bus at end of route, and adheres to Transportation Department Operating Instructions; requires the ability to communicate effectively with parents, school personnel, and students and to perform routine safety checks and emergency procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent plus some experience driving large vehicles with passenger transport preferred
- valid North Carolina Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License with school bus certification
