Job Summary
Assist in the safe transport of students to and from school under the direction of the principal and transportation coordinator. Responsibilities include supporting the bus driver, participating in pre-service and in-service training, lifting and restraining students as needed, and ensuring safe conduct during 182 days of employment. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid Alabama driver’s license, with good physical and emotional health to perform the duties.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Alabama Driver’s License
- Good physical and emotional health, including ability to lift and restrain students of varying age, levels and sizes
- Participation in pre-service and in-service bus driver training program
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate.
- Reports to: Principal and Transportation Coordinator
- Job Goal: To maintain the safe conduct of students to and from school and to aid the bus driver as needed.
