Job Summary
Conduct safe and efficient transportation of students for the district's curricular and extracurricular programs. Perform pre-trip inspections, obey traffic laws, and serve as the sole operator while maintaining orderly conduct among riders. Deliver the bus for servicing and repairs as directed. Manage fueling and keep the vehicle clean inside. Report serious discipline problems to the transportation supervisor and attend required driver meetings. Act as a role model for students and staff, instilling ethical principles and democratic values. Operate under inclement weather conditions and manage occasional interactions with unruly children.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Hold a current Ohio Class B CDL license with School Bus and Passenger endorsement
- Be insurable with not more than four points on the Ohio driver's license
- Complete and pass a T-8 physical yearly
- High moral character and good attendance record
- Demonstrate aptitude for successful completion of tasks assigned
