Job Summary
Operate a school bus on daily routes and special assignments to transport students and support district functions. Drive safely and maintain discipline on the bus, perform daily pre-trip inspections, report defects, adhere to district policies and state laws, assist in warehouse duties and district programs as needed, and participate in required district training. Must possess or obtain an Arizona Class B CDL with passenger endorsement and a School Bus Driver Certificate; maintain CPR/First Aid certification; pass a drug test and physical requirements; maintain a clean driving record; be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical duties as needed; and obtain/maintain an IVP fingerprint clearance card. Strong communication, safety awareness, and ability to interact with students, families, and staff are essential.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Arizona Class B (CDL) Drivers License with passenger endorsement
- School Bus Driver Certificate issued by the Department of Public Safety
- Must obtain and maintain Arizona DPS-issued level one IVP fingerprint clearance card
- Ability to pass drug test
- Clean driving record
- Ability to read and interpret information, write basic reports
- CPR certification and First Aid certification preferred or required by district
- Must meet all qualifications per the Regulations for School Bus Operations (as applicable)
