Job Summary
Safely operate the Community bus or van to transport residents to scheduled appointments and outings, assisting them on and off the vehicle while operating the wheelchair lift as needed. Escort residents into and out of appointments, ensuring safe arrival and pickup, and maintain a calm, professional demeanor throughout all interactions. Plan and organize routes to maximize efficiency while coordinating multiple transportation requests per day, accommodating all requests in a reasonable and timely manner. Maintain cleanliness of the bus or vehicle, both interior and exterior, and complete required forms and documentation for vehicle upkeep and maintenance tracking. Receive and track resident transportation requests and appointments, communicating clearly and professionally with residents and staff regarding schedules and needs. Intentionally build relationships with each resident and their family to provide personalized, attentive service, engaging with residents in a genuine, compassionate, and memorable way. Follow all policies and procedures related to the community transportation program and resident shopping trips.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or GED equivalent
- Must hold valid driver's license
- A minimum of 21 years of age preferred with driving record in good standing
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience driving a company vehicle for resident transportation activities is preferred
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
