Job Summary
Train-in-progress Bus Attendant role focused on student safety and transportation. During training, you attend job-related classes, complete First Aid/CPR, and learn bus safety basics; after training you may transition to open part-time or full-time Bus Attendant positions. Responsibilities include assisting students boarding/alighting the bus, conducting pre-trip safety checks, helping with wheelchairs and adaptive devices, maintaining a clean and safe bus environment, assisting substitute drivers with route information, communicating with parents and staff, and completing required reports. Qualifications emphasize clear English communication, basic first aid and emergency procedures (training provided), and completion of required trainings/certifications.
Required Qualifications
- National Safety Council First Aid and CPR certifications (provided during training)
- Ability to follow oral and written directives, and communicates effectively with students, staff and parents in English
- Maintain all required trainings and certifications during the course of employment with LCPS as a Bus Attendant
- Completes school bus attendant training requirements of Loudoun County
- Completes training requirements during training period and after for full/part-time roles
