Job Summary
Collaboratively ensure the safety and welfare of all students while on the bus by enforcing safety rules, assisting with loading and unloading, and monitoring behavior to resolve conflicts proactively. Assist the bus driver as needed and communicate behavior concerns to relevant parties. Support mealtime operations by distributing breakfast, recess snacks, and lunch, while maintaining daily cleaning and sanitization of kitchen and lunchroom areas. Follow and enforce applicable policies, rules, and procedures regarding conduct, emergency procedures, and safety standards for both transportation and food delivery. Attend all safety and training meetings as required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to handle complex and emotionally challenging situations
- Ability to establish and maintain respectful, cooperative and productive working relationships with a variety of individuals
- Availability for early mornings
- Comfort in a school setting
- Satisfactory completion of criminal records check (with vulnerable sector screening if relevant)
