Job Summary
In-Market Merchandiser for Japan region, translate global category strategy into regional plans, collaborating with regional marketing and marketplace teams to realize category positioning, product lineup, pricing, and sell-through performance. Responsible for optimizing soft goods product lines for Japan across DTC and wholesale channels, identifying opportunities, and coordinating SMU collaborations (e.g., regional partnerships, Fragment/Regional Printer Project). Lead GTM planning, demand forecasting, and inventory management while sharing insights with global teams. Support pre-season lineup shows and in-season promotions, and analyze weekly/monthly sales performance to drive regional growth. Requires 5+ years of category management experience, cross-functional and international work experience, deep knowledge of Japanese wholesale and retail environments, and a technical apparel background. Japanese native or bilingual with business English, plus willingness to travel domestically and to the US HQ. Hybrid work arrangement with office Mon-Thu and remote on Friday; core time 11:00–15:00.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years experience in category management or equivalent
- Cross-functional and international experience
- Deep knowledge of Japan wholesale structure and softgoods categories
- Technical apparel background (not limited to fashion/luxury only)
- Native-level Japanese and business English
