Job Summary
Diagnose, service, and repair commercial and industrial gas and oil burners while troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, combustion, and control systems. Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and equipment tune-ups, conducting combustion analysis to optimize burner performance. Repair and replace pumps, motors, nozzles, ignition systems, and related components by reading wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals. Complete service documentation, maintenance reports, and equipment startup procedures. Respond to emergency service calls as part of an on-call rotation, ensuring all work complies with OSHA requirements and applicable codes.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of commercial gas/oil burner service experience
- Strong knowledge of commercial boilers and burner systems
- Experience troubleshooting electrical controls and combustion systems
- Working knowledge of hydronic and steam heating systems
- Valid gas/oil burner technician license or certification, where required
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with combustion analysis and emissions testing
- Building Automation Systems (BAS) experience
- OSHA 30 certification
- Trade school, apprenticeship, or equivalent technical training
