Job Summary
Set up and operate overhead cranes to load and unload steel while maintaining a clean and safe work area. Verify finished products meet specifications by reading blueprints, interpreting work orders, and measuring materials against CAD drawings. Operate the Burn Table to cut materials according to design specs, select correct stock dimensions, and transfer data. Maintain and safely operate tools including tape measures, calipers, forklifts, and banding machines, performing routine equipment checks and notifying supervisors of damages. Always follow Triple-S safe work methods and immediately advise supervisors of any unsafe conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to stand for a prolonged period
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
- Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus
Desired Qualifications
- Technical training or certification in Machine Operation or related field
- Previous experience interpreting CAD drawings
- Experienced operating CNC plasma and oxy machines
- Familiarity with measuring tools and techniques
- Experienced with overhead cranes
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions accurately
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in fast paced environment
