Job Summary
Set up and operate overhead cranes to load and unload steel while maintaining a clean and safe work area. Maintain and safely operate assigned tools and equipment, including forklifts, shears, and personal protective equipment, performing routine checks and notifying supervisors of any damages. Operate and maintain the Burn Table to cut materials according to CAD drawings or work orders, reading blueprints to determine cutting requirements. Measure materials to assure conformance with design specifications and transfer appropriate data onto stock. Always follow Triple-S safe methods of work and immediately advise a supervisor of any unsafe conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to stand for a prolonged period
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
- Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus
- Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts
- Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles
- Occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals
- Risk of electrical shock
Desired Qualifications
- Technical training or certification in Machine Operation or related field
- Previous experience interpreting CAD drawings
- Experienced operating CNC plasma and oxy machines
- Familiarity with measuring tools and techniques
- Experienced with overhead cranes
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions accurately
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in fast paced environment
