Job Summary
Maintain tool room equipment, perform routine preventative maintenance on machinery, plumbing, electrical, and pneumatic systems, and ensure safe, optimum functioning of all processes. Conduct daily setup and teardown of process equipment, perform facility rounds to inspect and record repairs, and check safety equipment like fire extinguishers and sprinkler systems for compliance. Work with confidential company trade secrets and ideas while adhering to HACCP programs, USDA guidelines, and plant safety rules. Requires 1+ year of facility maintenance experience, valid driver's license, and ability to lift 50 lbs in varying temperatures. 2nd shift (6:00 PM - 6:00 AM) with pay ranging from $22.00 to $30.75/hr. Located in Nevada, Iowa.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of one (1) year of hands‐on experience in facility maintenance and repair
- Applicants must not now, or at any time in the future, require employer sponsorship for a work visa
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Self-motivation and team attitude essential
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Willing to work evenings, weekends, and overtime as required
- Knows and follows HACCP program and principles
- Knows and follows USDA guidelines
- Knows and follows Good Manufacturing Practices
- All team members must abide by all of Burke's Plant Safety Rules
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with forklift, skid loaders, and similar equipment a plus
- Requires basic math, reading, and writing skills
- Requires manual dexterity
- Ability to maintain a rapid pace for extended periods
- Able to work in loud and hot and cold environments
