Job Summary
Head Athletic Coach responsible for instructing student-athletes in fundamentals, strategy, and training to achieve team success, maintain discipline and sportsmanship, supervise facilities, manage equipment and budget with the Athletic Director, monitor academic progress for eligibility, foster public relations, and coordinate with staff and media; requires coaching experience, knowledge of MIAA rules, and CPR/First Aid certification; role is a one-year, part-time position with stipend per BEA/School District agreement.
Required Qualifications
- Employment as a teacher in the system is preferred but not required
- Successful previous experience as a player or coach
- Substantial knowledge of the technical aspects and procedures pertinent to the particular sport including rules of MIAA
- A proven ability to work in a polite and friendly manner with students, teachers, parents, administrators and the community or public
- Availability to meet practice and contest schedule as necessary
- Alternatives to above qualifications as the School District may find appropriate and acceptable
- Completion of Coaches Education Course offered and presented by MIAA
- Maintain first aid certification and current CPR certification
