Job Summary
Oversee the maintenance, packing, and stocking of all bulk foods by following merchandising plans, filling bins, and preparing wrapped packages accurately. Order and maintain inventory while rotating products using code dates and adhering to cleaning and sanitation programs. Ensure compliance with safety, health, weights & measures, and COOL regulations. Communicate standards, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members, providing coaching, feedback, and performance reviews. Recruit, hire, and make promotion decisions in collaboration with the Store Manager, while confidently addressing team concerns and taking corrective actions. Create and adjust schedules to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency. Serve as a Key Carrier or Manager on Duty as needed. Work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have 1- 2 years of experience in a retail grocery environment
- Have 1 year of managerial leadership experience
- Be dependable and reliable having the ability to work flexible schedule that changes; including night, weekends, and holidays
- Be expected to know weekly ad items
- Be able to give customers direction of product location throughout the store
- Be able to do general housekeeping in the department
- Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule that changes as the business changes, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Possess a working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals
- Have and show outgoing and friendly behavior along with a positive attitude towards Team Members and customers
- Be able to move vertically/horizontally transferring product weighing up to 50 lbs., from 4" to 36", for a distance up to 4 feet for up to 15 hours without mechanical assistance
- This role requires continuous standing for up to 4 hours, for a total of 8 hours per shift
