Job Summary
Supervise and coordinate loading/unloading operations for outbound shipments, ensuring conformance to policies, FIFO procedures, and accurate, undamaged delivery. Assign duties to up to 30 unionized employees, develop weekly labor schedules, and enforce accountability while maintaining a clean, orderly work area. Lead the efficient and safe operation of material handling equipment, optimize space through warehouse consolidation, and ensure work schedules are implemented effectively. Produce and analyze reports related to warehouse and distribution, conduct physical inventories to assure inventory integrity, and secure the building when acting as supervisor in charge. Rotate shifts with reasonable overtime, including some weekends.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum three years of supervisory experience in a high volume warehouse or equivalent military experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Rotating shifts
- Reasonable overtime (including some weekends)
Desired Qualifications
- 4-year degree highly desirable
- Experience in a union environment preferred
- Experience with consumer product goods / retail distribution preferred
- Successful communication - written and verbal
- Ability to establish priorities and multi-task
- Experience with personal computers and materials handling equipment
- Ability to understand, produce and explain reports
- Four year degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent military experience preferred
- Experience with consumer product goods / retail distribution preferred
