Job Summary
Lecturer in Building Surveying delivers industry-aligned teaching across building surveying programmes, designs and delivers engaging learning that connects regulatory knowledge to real-world building control practice, develops and reviews course materials and assessments, provides timely feedback, participates in moderation and quality assurance, and works with others to shape curriculum. Requires substantial experience in building surveying or building control, deep knowledge of the Building Act 2004 and NZ Building Code, a Level 6+ qualification in a relevant field, and a teaching qualification (L5+) or commitment to obtain one. Role supports remote or hybrid delivery with potential travel within New Zealand. Must have right to work in New Zealand and reliable internet for online delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Substantial experience in building surveying or building control (BCA, BOINZ, Council or TA)
- In-depth knowledge of the Building Act 2004, NZ Building Code and building regulatory environment
- Qualification at Level 6 or above in a relevant field
- Teaching qualification (L5+), or commitment to work towards one
- Reliable, high-speed internet connection to support seamless online delivery.
