Building Supervisor

Job Summary
Patrol building and grounds to prevent fires, theft, vandalism, and disruptive behavior while documenting incidents via Incident Report forms. Coordinate light maintenance tasks, replenish supplies, and sanitize bio-hazardous areas. Enforce YMCA rules and policies by observing members and guests, issuing cautions, and resolving complaints to maintain an orderly atmosphere. Render CPR and First Aid care, implement Emergency Action Plans, and contact 911 for serious injuries. Provide guided tours, manage crowd control during major events, and perform daily building inspections using the Supervisor Checklist. Fill in front desk duties including answering phones, verifying member scans, and taking messages. Ensure employees remain alert and perform duties as assigned by the Facility Director.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum age of 18
- High school diploma
- At least one (1) year of participatory safety or security work experience
- Ability to work independently and take decisive action within limits of authority and responsibility
- Ability to perform multiple tasks, interact in a positive manner with YMCA guests, members and the general public
- Good communication and listening skills
- Willingness to continue acquiring knowledge relevant to the position through the study of printed materials and on-site training opportunities
- Must obtain CPR certification within 30 days from starting date
- Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions of position to supervise program activities
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust
- Remain alert with no lapses of consciousness
Desired Qualifications
