Job Summary
Maintenance-focused Building Superintendent role responsible for upkeep of academic and dormitory spaces, including cleaning, minor repairs, and setup for university functions. Duties include vacuuming, dusting, washing walls and glass, replacing light bulbs, trash and recycling handling, restroom servicing, snow removal and ice melt application, moving and setting up furniture, and assisting with event setups. Requires a valid driver’s license and DOT certificate; ability to lift up to 50 lbs; ability to work overtime and weekends; mandatory overtime as needed; compliance with safety rules; and potential union membership after a probationary period.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license for the state of residence
- DOT certificate
- Effective communication with workers, supervisors and directors
- Ability to perform manual labor, including lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs
- Ability to work alone and climb stairs, ladders, staging
- Ability to respond to overtime needs, including weekends
- Adherence to safety rules and regulations
- Ability to follow directions

- Criminal background check required
