Job Summary
Provide coverage during instructional and non-instructional time; deliver operational support as needed; and serve as an advisor to a cohort of students. Uphold the mission of Excel Academy Charter Schools by ensuring all students receive access to a free, high-quality holistic education. Work effectively within a team environment to support colleagues and problem-solve challenges that arise in the school community. Start date is Monday, August 3, 2026. Salary ranges from $49,100 to $65k commensurate with experience. Rhode Island Substitute Teacher Certification or pursuit thereof is required. Preference is given to applicants who share intersectional experiences with our student body, such as speaking Spanish, Portuguese, or Arabic at an advanced level.
Required Qualifications
- Rhode Island Substitute Teacher Certification or in pursuit of Certification
- An openness to change, a willingness to problem-solve, and an interest in receiving feedback for continuous improvement
- The ability to work effectively in a team environment and the willingness and desire to support others in doing their best work
- A commitment to and belief in all students and the mission of Excel Academy Charter Schools, including Excel's values and educational model
- Can speak to their personal investment and commitment to antiracist education and diversity, equity, and inclusion in our school community and beyond
Desired Qualifications
- Speaking Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, or a language commonly spoken by our students and families at an advanced level
- Being first generation college graduates
- Having grown up low-income
