Building structural Engineer

Job Summary
Structural Design Engineer responsible for designing and sizing building structures in reinforced concrete, steel, and wood within a BIM (Revit) environment. Analyze, size, and optimize structures for a variety of building projects; perform advanced analyses with ETABS, SAP2000, and SAFE; develop efficient structural concepts that comply with Canadian standards; coordinate with internal/external stakeholders; validate design models and load cases; participate in preliminary and detailed design phases; contribute to solving complex structural challenges; ensure deliverables' technical quality; support junior engineers and drafters; engage in client discussions as needed; experience with CAD/BIM workflows and French-language requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering with a structural focus
- 6 to 10 years of experience in structural design of buildings in Canada
- Excellent technical expertise in steel, concrete, and wood
- Strong experience in numerical structural analysis
- Rigorous, analytical, and solution-oriented approach
- Ability to work on complex projects with a strong conceptual component
- Technical autonomy combined with an appreciation for collaborative work
- Experience in a collaborative BIM environment
- French-language proficiency
Desired Qualifications
- 6 to 10 years of experience in structural design of buildings in Canada
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering with a structural focus
- Graduate-level courses in building structures (reinforced concrete, dynamic analysis, seismic design, etc.) are considered an asset
- Member in good standing of the OIQ
- Excellent command of French
- Experience designing institutional, commercial, industrial, or complex residential projects (assets)
- Experience in a collaborative BIM environment (assets)
- Interest in innovation, optimization, and high-performance structures (assets)
