Job Summary
Design and size building structures in reinforced concrete, steel, and wood using ETABS, SAP2000, and SAFE within a Revit BIM environment. Perform advanced structural analyses, develop efficient structural concepts complying with Canadian standards, and ensure technical coordination with internal and external stakeholders. Validate design assumptions, analytical models, and load cases while contributing to preliminary and detailed design phases. Provide technical support to junior engineers and drafters, occasionally participating in client discussions. Ensure the technical quality of deliverables including drawings and specifications. This role requires a Bachelor's in Civil or Construction Engineering, 6 to 10 years of Canadian structural design experience, and excellent French. The position offers a 37.5-hour week with flexible scheduling, hybrid work, and a competitive hourly compensation package.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering with a structural focus
- Member in good standing of the OIQ
- 6 to 10 years of experience in structural design of buildings in Canada
- Excellent technical expertise in steel, concrete, and wood
- Strong experience in numerical structural analysis
- Excellent command of French
Desired Qualifications
- Graduate-level courses in building structures (reinforced concrete, dynamic analysis, seismic design, etc.)
- Experience designing institutional, commercial, industrial, or complex residential projects
- Strong involvement in structural decision-making during the conceptual phase
- Interest in innovation, optimization, and high-performance structures
- Experience in a collaborative BIM environment
