Job Summary
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on stationary and portable generators, transfer switches, fuel tanks, and auxiliary equipment. Mobilize portable generators as needed and maintain all necessary state certifications for generator and fuel system upkeep. Liaise with DEQ representatives regarding annual operating certificates while keeping up with a fast-paced PM schedule. Make field decisions based on technical analysis and maintain maintenance records using the CMMS work order tracking program. Drive a motor vehicle approximately 25% of the time, working evening or night hours, overtime, emergency callouts, weekends, and long hours during emergencies.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license, auto insurance, and satisfactory driving record
- Must complete a pre-employment drug screening
- Must be currently authorized to work in the US for any employer
- Must be able to regularly and safely perform all functions of operating a motor vehicle
- Must be able to handle, lift, and carry objects over 50 lbs
- Must be able to adapt to rapidly changing priorities and schedules
- Must be able to work effectively within critical deadlines
- Must be able to prioritize and collaborate effectively with other personnel to meet deadlines
- Must be able to work independently while using sound judgment and reasoning skills
- Must be able to provide excellent customer service
- Must be able to maintain all necessary state certifications required for generator and fuel system maintenance
- Must comply with all company and DEQ regulations
- Must be able to make decisions in the field based on analysis, technical knowledge, and capabilities of equipment
- Must be able to work with chemicals including gasoline, lubricating oils and greases, number 2 diesel fuel, fiberglass, contact cleaner/solvents
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred of five (5) years of experience in generator and/or diesel engine maintenance & repair
