Job Summary
Building Services Manager at DayOne responsible for Security Management, Cleaning, Waste Management, Landscaping, Pest Control, Handyman Repairs, Front-of-House Facilities, and Vendor Management across DayOne’s data center facilities. Develop and implement security policies, oversee security staff and access control/CCTV/alarm systems, conduct security audits and risk assessments, and respond to incidents. Manage cleaning staff and cleaning schedules, ensure health and safety compliance, coordinate waste disposal and sustainability initiatives, maintain outdoor areas and landscaping, supervise pest control, lead a team of handymen for repairs, operate and inspect front-of-house facilities (lifts, gates, shutters), and negotiate/manage contracts with external vendors. Ensure health & safety compliance and regular safety audits. Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and proven facilities management experience in a data center or similar environment; strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills and knowledge of facilities management software.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field
- Proven experience in facilities management, preferably in a data centre or similar environment
- Strong knowledge of security protocols and experience managing security personnel
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Proficiency in facilities management software and tools
