Job Summary
Maintain approved cleanliness and sanitary conditions in assigned Medical Center areas by following infection control guidelines and safety protocols. Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors; dust, spot wash, and disinfect surfaces including walls, doors, radiators, and Venetian blinds. Clean and make beds, wash toilets, empty trash receptacles, and remove marks from floors and walls. Perform 7-Cleaning Steps for patient rooms daily, including disinfecting bathrooms with bleach or hospital-approved solutions, and handle soiled areas with appropriate solutions. Restock cleaning supplies, use bed tracking systems and pagers for discharges, and advise supervisors of hazardous conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to communicate and understand simple directions in English
- Must be able to read MSDS & chemical labels
- Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
Desired Qualifications
- One to two years experience cleaning in a Health Care environment preferred but not required
