Job Summary
Maintain approved cleanliness and sanitary conditions in assigned Medical Center areas by performing 7 daily cleaning steps per patient room, including dusting, spot wall washing, and disinfecting bathrooms with bleach or hospital-approved solutions. Sweep, mop, and vacuum hard and carpeted floors using appropriate germicidal solutions and burnishing machines, while removing marks, finger prints, and soiled areas including blood or body fluids. Empty trash receptacles, restock supplies, and ensure adequate tool availability throughout the workday. Adhere strictly to safety and infection control guidelines, including proper body mechanics, glove use, and the RACE/chemical safety protocols. Communicate hazardous conditions to supervisors and utilize the Bed Tracking System for discharge reporting.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to communicate and understand simple directions in English
- Must be able to read MSDS & chemical labels
- Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
Desired Qualifications
- One to two years experience cleaning in a Health Care environment preferred but not required
