Job Summary
Maintain approved cleanliness and sanitary conditions in assigned Medical Center areas by following established safety and infection control guidelines. Perform daily cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, polishing floors, high dusting, spot washing, and disinfecting bathrooms with germicidal solutions. Clean patient rooms by washing beds from discharges, setting up rooms for admission, and executing the 7-Cleaning Steps protocol. Empty trash receptacles, replenish supplies, and use proper body mechanics and PPE when moving furniture or handling hazardous conditions. Utilize the Bed Tracking System and pager to report discharges and receive assignments.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to communicate and understand simple directions in English
- Must be able to read MSDS & chemical labels
- Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
Desired Qualifications
- One to two years experience cleaning in a Health Care environment preferred but not required
