Building Science Project Associate

Job Summary
Assist with design and condition assessment of buildings and provide technical expertise to building science projects across residential, commercial, institutional, municipal, federal, and healthcare sectors. Provide project support for Asset Management, Building Envelope and structural projects; conduct field investigations related to building condition assessments and envelope repair/evaluation; prepare written reports including cost analysis and design recommendations; prepare Building Condition Assessment reports for government, private owners and institutional lenders; assist with development of contract documents (plans, details, specifications) for additions/modifications/renovations to buildings; conduct on-site field investigations and testing; prioritize and deliver multiple small projects with supervision; liaise with clients, design team consultants and contractors to ensure compliance with design documents and timely/budget-conscious delivery; use initiative to resolve problems and interpret engineering specifications; work with Senior Engineers and take direction as required; hybrid work arrangement in Vancouver, BC.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology and/or a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering (required)
- Knowledge of North American building codes and standards (required)
- Access to a reliable vehicle with a valid Driver’s License for travel to client sites (required)
- Willingness to work on site and deal with Contractors
- Comfortable with working at heights or in confined spaces
