Job Summary
Building Repair Technician at WoodMaster Portable Buildings (division of Tuff Shed) based in Cobden, IL. Responsibilities include transporting portable buildings, inspecting and repairing defects prior to transport, loading/unloading with tarps and ties, conducting safety walks, and resetting dealer lots per manager specifications. Maintenance and repair of portable buildings on lots and for customers, inventory checks, and ensuring compliance with fleet policies and DOT regulations. Requires regular driving with a clean record, ability to travel up to 100% with overnight stays, and strong customer-service and team collaboration skills. Must have basic construction experience, familiarity with power tools, and the ability to communicate effectively with customers, partners, suppliers, and coworkers. DOT certification and/or ability to obtain DOT certification is required.
Required Qualifications
- Regular driver’s license with clean driving record
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical and obtain a DOT certificate
- Knowledge of safety regulations, traffic laws, and vehicle maintenance practices
- Basic construction experience and use of power tools/machinery
- Strong customer service skills and ability to interact professionally with customers
- Ability to operate delivery vehicles safely and efficiently
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting
- Ability to travel up to 100% with overnight stays
- Minimum 1 year experience as a driver, distribution/logistics, preferred
- Minimum 1 year experience operating tractor-trailer combinations, preferred
- Minimum 1 year experience in construction or manufacturing, preferred
- Experience with trailer hookups
- Ability to read, write and understand instructions
- Ability to communicate at all levels
