Building Plans Examiner and/or Inspector

Conduct examinations of building permit applications, blueprints, and shop drawings for compliance with the Florida Building Code. Issue verbal and written notices of code violations and citations, while recognizing and resolving unique technical problems. Inspect buildings and facilities to verify conformance with regulations, preparing written and electronic reports and maintaining all required records. Meet with design professionals, contractors, and property owners to discuss code issues and explain pertinent sections of applicable codes. Assist in resolving complex customer service inquiries and complaints regarding residential and commercial projects. Perform general administrative duties including filing documents, answering the telephone, and attending meetings as assigned by the Manager.
