Job Summary
Building Operator for Department of National Defence contract sites throughout the BC Interior. Responsibilities include maintaining safe conditions inside and outside facilities, performing minor plumbing and electrical repairs, operating and monitoring the building management system/BAS, conducting preventive maintenance and mechanical inspections, coordinating with project managers and subcontractors, logging readings, responding to tenant requests, assisting with budgeting and scheduling, preparing contracts and revisions, developing quality control programs, and representing the company in client interactions. Requires 4th/5th Class Power Engineering certification, 3-5 years in mechanical/electrical fields, experience with automated building systems, on-call availability, valid BC driver’s license, ability to travel within the BC Interior, and eligibility for federal security clearance; compensation starting between $33.51-$35.51/hour (annualized to approximately $69,701–$73,861 depending on experience). Required Qualifications
- 4th Class or 5th Class Power Engineering certification
- 3-5 years of work experience in mechanical/electrical industry
- Knowledge and experience in building automated systems and HVAC system
- Experience working with a skid steer
- Clean Class 5 BC Driver’s License and abstract
- Ability to obtain Reliability Status Federal security clearance to access military sites
